I have a small supply of really old, air dried Gabon Ebony. It look similar to Mpingo and I’ve yet to determine which I prefer.
These will be very limited.

I’ve decided to spend the morning testing out record weights of different wood species. With the addition of the @modwrightinstruments PH 9.0xt phono stage I believe the subtle differences between each weight will be even more apparent. I should probably commit to several hours of listening. If my wife checks her phone and sees that I’m still at home, I’m certainly out on an extra long dog walk and forgot my phone in the house.

By the way, I don’t know the msrp on the Eggleston Works Emma SE speakers but whatever it is they have no business sounding this good. I’ve never heard a speaker reproduce drums as well as @egglestonworks .

I was about to add a filter to these pics just to make them look like they do in person, but nope. This rack requires nothing. This is exactly what this walnut looks like . Crazy wood.

A few people have asked me about my own personal system, and I was just messaging with Dan @modwrightinstruments about various things, including my system. By most audiophile standards mine is still somewhat modest, but only in price. I’m extremely happy with its current sound. It’s definitely revealing enough that I can test new products and goodies and determine a difference .

Triangle Art Hathor turntable, Jelco arm, Hana MH cartridge. Nordost Heimdall tone arm cable. Carbon fiber platter . Brazilian rosewood weight. Resting on a @seismion active isolation base. All set up by @sonicartistry .
ModWright instruments PH 9.Ox phono stage on @carbide.audio Nano footers.
@lineartubeaudio micro zotl pre amp on Navcom silencers.
Nakamichi Stasis PA5 (Nelson Pass design) power amp.
@egglestonworks Emma evo speakers ❤️.
Turntable, Phono stage and Pre amp run on Nordost Red Dawn power cables and go into a Nordost power filter with additional Q- Source filters. Then a @skograndcables power cable takes everyrhing into the wall. That cable is magical. Skogrand interconnects and Speaker cables as well.
My rack is 2” thick rock maple on oversized lignum vitae legs. Isolation under the rack is Carbide Audio bases and I also use Carbide Audio micro bases beneath my amp. I also use a Furutech hospital grade electrical receptacle.

I think that’s it.

Some days a horse shoe flys up your ass seemingly from nowhere. I got to the shop today and quickly began to tidy up the mess from yesterday . I grabbed some of the more exotic and expensive scraps and threw them into a box with other scraps, and what was sitting in there? Some usable pieces of authentic Brazilian rosewood. I swear , maybe it’s the dementia talking or even more likey I’m just an idiot but I have no recollection of having this wood left over. Is this another rosewood blessing from the cosmos?

I have a couple of customers who understand and appreciate the accolades of this, the world’s most expensive and most rare tone wood. More so than lignum vitae and more so desert iron wood.

We have operators standing by to take your call , have your credit cards ready.

I love Nelson Pass amps. This one looks pretty sweet on this rock maple amp stand.

Rock maple is a pretty good tone wood. Probably the least expensive of the good woods.
